Huawei brings its own Mobile Services called HMS

Huawei brings its own Mobile Services called HMS; the Chinese company is now developing its in-house replacement for the time being. The company has created its services called HMS or Huawei Mobile Services in China to replace Google services and apps for its upcoming devices.

Huawei most recently announced that the company is going to stop using the hardware, as well as the software from Google, including Google services and apps, in its upcoming devices.

Charles Peng, CEO of Huawei and Honor India, said,
"We have own Huawei Mobile Services and trying to form our own mobile ecosystem. Most of the key apps like navigation, payments, gaming and messaging are going to be ready by December end. It will soon be online …
You will see the difference between HMS and GMS, and we specialize in the way to work with developers to supply a decent customer experience. We are working to resolve this issue. We will try to build an end-to-end business model with developers, content and services providers. We will provide value to them."

Huawei Mobile Services or HMS is a package of tools that can be used by developers as Google Play Services do for. It is designed to building blocks of Harmony OS without the Android ecosystem. Developers usually utilize Google Services to build apps that require such functionality as they don’t have to rewrite the code from scratch. So, the company created Huawei Mobile Services to help developers do the same for the Huawei ecosystem.

Huawei Mobile Services will support smartphones that don't have access to Google Play and Media Services. Moreover, its key functions like navigation and payment are going to be available immediately.

The Chinese company has made HMS or Huawei Mobile Services available to the developers in beta as of now. And on December 23, Huawei’s HMS has launched a public beta in China. The public beta test released in two application tests. That is one for Huawei Mobile Services and the other for HMS Core Test. The version of Huawei Mobile Services has fixed some known issues, and improved performance experiences and a few functions like message notification and wallet come to produce more stable and high-quality services. As for Huawei Mobile Services' initial test, it is a small app market model to integrate 6 HMS basic services.

Moreover, Huawei is also focusing on adding top 100-150 applications in every country through its Huawei Mobile Services platform.
