Google includes Focus mode to Digital Wellbeing for Android device

Google now includes Focus mode to Digital Wellbeing for Android device; a new feature that is designed to prevent you from being constantly distracted apps. This mode makes it possible to temporarily silence apps that you find the most distracting apps.

Previous, the new Focus Mode was announced earlier this year as development mode.

Focus Mode is the latest addition to Digital Wellbeing that will help to keep you and your phone aside from lighting up with distracting notifications at the busy schedule.

The new Focus mode tool lets you select apps to pause temporarily. So, if you want to pause a distracting app to get something done, all you have to do is tap.

Google’s Dayson Pais noted,

“You can select apps you currently find distracting such as social media or gaming apps, and if you try to open them, Focus mode will remind you that the app is paused. Focus mode also silent those apps notifications until you’re ready to switch out of the mode. You can use your phone without interruptions from apps you don’t need right away. Our beta testers’ feedback inspired us to include a few new features with this launch.

We’ve added an option that automatically activates or deactivates Focus mode for the days and times that you set. This is very useful for setting daily schedules. You can minimize distractions during the hours especially when you’re too busy.

We also included an option to take a break to lets you switch off Focus mode for certain apps to use them and jump back in when you’re ready. If you’ve completed your tasks before the time that you mentioned, you can simply turn on Focus mode, and it’ll resume as scheduled the next day.”

With the latest update to the Digital Wellbeing app on Android, you can experience it in your Android smartphone.

You can able to use the Focus mode features on Android 9 or Android 10 handsets that support Google Digital Wellbeing and Parental controls capabilities. To access this tool, you have to navigate Settings > Digital Wellbeing & parental controls > Focus mode. In the interface of this new tool, you can manually pause distracting apps when you need time to focus, or set up a schedule for those apps that will need to be silenced.
